What size should my images be?

The file size of image you upload is restricted to 2Mb therefore it is important to optimise your images as jpegs to a level that will not effect the quality when it appears on your web page. In most cases you should be able to reduce this to below 1Mb.

Each image you upload will be reproduced in two sizes for your pages. The smaller size will have the WIDTH set at 300 pixels and the enlarged version will have the WIDTH set to 800 pixels maximum. It is therefore important that you do not upload images with less than 800 pixels in width.

Any image you upload that is bigger than this will be re-sized automatically, however this will mean your upload time will take longer, and the process may delete any metadata that you have embedded in the image.
